Having the Right Attitude in Down Times

As 2008 comes to an end, the news describes a profound recession and suggests difficult times ahead at least for the immediate future.

Are you mentally prepared for the New Year and the recession? It is most important to have the right attitude while moving forward during these difficult times.

Keep in mind that your attitude and discipline are 100% within your control. You can maintain the right attitude with a little bit of discipline. In other words, embrace an attitude of discipline or fall into society's trap and become a product of your environment.

Unfortunately most people will fall into the latter and will experience tougher times than those who take control of their lives, who maintain a positive attitude and who benefit from daily disciplines. Those who have the right positive attitude and daily discipline will thrive in these down times.

So, my question to you is, "why don't you make a decision to thrive in these down times too?"

In fact, it can be easier to thrive and succeed better in a recessions. As the saying goes, whenever there's a crisis, there lie opportunities too.

You can begin developing an positive attitude and daily discipline right now or make it your New Year's resolutions if you prefer to begin a new life in the New Year.

It will allow you to endure adversity, hardship, setbacks and ultimately achieve success and seek opportunities in every area of your life.

You will not be permanently knocked off the bicycle of life if you utilize an attitude of discipline. You will stay in control when trouble and heartache head your way knowing that it is part of life's ups and downs. You must, however, confirm your vision of the future on a daily basis.

An attitude of discipline infers that when your plan is not going exactly the way you envisioned, you press on. It means when others criticize you, you must refuse to allow someone else to dictate your thoughts or direction. It means you know who you are. It means you accept 100% responsibility for all of your actions.

It also requires you to adopt several daily attitudes and disciplines. You can never blame someone else or external forces. You have to take control of your life and the things within your control such as your attitude, discipline, thoughts, feelings, emotions, self talk and reactions.

Only you can make the difference in your life. Take advantage of this message and begin adopting an attitude of discipline today!
